One private reply sent to one person counts as one auto-DM against your monthly limit. We count messages sent, not contacts stored, so the same follower commenting on three posts is three DMs, not a recurring monthly charge. There is no per-contact fee and no overage bill if a reel takes off, your limit simply resets each month.
